Kayla Rinderknecht

As a Population Health Service Fellow through the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, Kayla was placed with the organization to develop and build an environmental health initiative that centers public health in Clean Wisconsin’s environmental advocacy and reduces health disparities throughout the state. Her role focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of the state of science regarding environmental determinants of health and improving access to Wisconsin-specific information.

She received her B.S. in Community Health Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and recently received her Master of Public Health Degree with a concentration in Policy from the University of Iowa. Throughout her graduate career, she held a research assistantship with the Rural Policy Research Institute, where she wrote comment letters in response to proposed policies impacting rural health. She also gained community engagement and health equity experience while working with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield as a community health research intern.
