Irina is a Project Development Director at BerQ RNG, a ground-up waste-to-energy company, and owner of Zellion, a waste-to-energy consulting firm.
Irina grew up in Israel, where shortage of clean water was a near-constant threat. These early impressions engrained in her the importance of abundant clean water and healthy soils for human life and pushed her to pursue a career aimed at reducing man-made harm to the environment.
In the past few years, Irina’s work has focused on renewable energy projects generating electricity and RNG from organic waste on dairy farms and industrial manufacturing facilities. Prior to that, her work focused on wastewater treatment projects for municipal and industrial clients, ensuring clean water was returned to the environment. Her work with farmers, corporations, and municipalities has informed an understanding of various stakeholders and helped develop a collaborative and pragmatic approach to environmental action.
Irina holds a B.Sc. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and an M.B.A from the Lubar School of Business.
She lives in Milwaukee with her husband, two kids, and two dogs and enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, and scuba diving.
