As Government Relations Director, Erik Kanter guides Clean Wisconsin’s legislative and policy initiatives through the state legislature and state agencies. His knowledge of the legislative process and relationships with key state officials support the advancement of Clean Wisconsin’s policymaking goals.
Prior to joining Clean Wisconsin, Erik lobbied at a Madison-based government relations firm for several legislative sessions. He advocated on behalf of a diverse group of clients, including renewable energy developers and some of the state’s leading public health organizations.
His passion for environmentalism and conservation comes from a lifetime of hiking, camping, and fishing throughout Wisconsin, the United States, and elsewhere. Erik is excited to be a part of Clean Wisconsin and grateful for the opportunity to join his professional expertise with his personal passion.
Erik graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Favorite things to do outdoors in Wisconsin: Fly fishing in the Driftless, cross country skiing, hiking, and camping with my wife, son, and dog.
