Andrew Hoyos is the owner and principal consultant at Hoyos Consulting LLC, a quickly growing company providing expert-level network consulting and boutique ISP and data center services in the Midwest area. Andrew has been in the IP networking field for over 15 years, with experience working for a number of service providers and enterprise organizations, specifically related to technologies such as: IP, BGP, MPLS, large scale wireless, optical transport networks (CWDM/DWDM), and IPv6 deployments.
Prior to starting Hoyos Consulting, Andrew held various roles in service provider companies, including acting as General Manager and Chief Technology Officer for a mid-sized broadband company in Wisconsin and a senior IP network engineering position with a Fortune 500 telecommunications provider.
He is also an participant in the global networking community, including organizations such as NANOG and ARIN. Andrew is one of the Lead Engineer’s for the InteropNet, creating of one of the world’s largest temporary networks for the Interop trade show on an annual basis. Additionally, Andrew is a co-founder and chair of the Milwaukee Internet Exchange, a not-for-profit peering exchange, enabling lower latency and more resilient connectivity for ISP’s in the Milwaukee area.
Andrew lives in McFarland, Wisconsin, with his wife, Natalie, and two daughters.
