If you’re interested in energy-saving upgrades that will make your home healthier to live in and better for the environment, two programs rolling out later this year can help you pay for them.

Large scale solar development is rapidly expanding in Wisconsin. Utility-scale solar (USS) farms are large, ground-mounted solar arrays that produce electricity for the grid. In 2020 there was 150 MW of USS capacity in the state, enough to power roughly 22,500 homes.

A roadmap to net-zero:  Wisconsin has set ambitious climate goals: slashing greenhouse gas emissions by half within the next six years and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Unprecedented levels of federal funds are bringing transformative changes – and a lot of excitement – to communities across Wisconsin.

This spring, Clean Wisconsin staff and members visited theaters across the state to see Bad River, a powerful new documentary from award-winning director Mary Mazzio. This moving film chronicles the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s ongoing battle for sovereignty and environmental justice.

Compared to Wisconsin, Michigan’s wind capacity is four times higher. Minnesota: six times higher. Illinois: ten times higher.

Many Wisconsinites cook with gas stoves, but recent studies show that these appliances emit dangerous pollutants into homes. According to Wisconsin Public Radio, 34% of Wisconsin households cook primarily with gas appliances.

Five years ago, gas power plants were considered consistently dependable and ready to provide power whenever we needed it. But then the 2021 winter storm in Texas, followed by the 2022 winter storm across the Midwest, upended those assumptions.

While the 2023 legislative session ended without passage of the Transition to Grass Pilot Program legislation, Clean Wisconsin’s advocacy for the “Grazing Bill” hasn’t stopped.

On April 11th, Clean Wisconsin celebrated our 10th annual Epicurean Evening gala, bringing together over 400 members, advocates, and supporters from all over the state.

There is no question that my favorite season is summer. All year, I look forward to long, warm runs outside, pontooning on Madison lakes, canoeing down the lower Wisconsin River, gardening, and raucous backyard gatherings with friends that stretch late into the evening.
