Supporting Home Grown Energy: Koshkonong Solar Energy Center

Imagine a different Wisconsin. One where coal and methane gas-fired power plants are a thing of the past. Instead, we rely on our own home-grown clean energy. The Koshkonong Solar Energy Center is a first step toward that clean energy future.

Koshkonong Solar will:

  • Provide enough energy to power 60,000 homes – a quarter of the households Dane County
  • Reduce carbon emissions by 15-20 million tons over its life
  • Generate $1.2 million in local tax revenue every year
  • Reduce agricultural pollution runoff into already impaired local waterways like Koshkonong Creek
  • Provide deep-rooted prairie habitat among the solar arrays for pollinators, including Wisconsin’s endangered rusty patch bumblebee
